Call for Demos

Scope

The Mobiquitous 2014 Demos Track allows researchers and practitioners to demonstrate new systems in a dedicated session, and possibly during reception hours, in a more informal setting. Demo submissions must be based on an implemented and tested system that pursues one or more innovative ideas in the interest areas of the conference. Software and hardware demos will be considered, as long as they show innovative use of ubiquitous and pervasive technologies.

Each demo submission must make clear which aspects of the system will be demonstrated and how. Demo submissions should strive to state the significance of the contribution to the area of pervasive ubiquitous systems and applications. Demos will be peer-reviewed by members of the Mobiquitous 2014 TPC, selected by the Demos Track Chairs, who will judge the originality, significance, quality, and clarity of each submission.

At least one author of each accepted demo paper must register for and attend the conference to demonstrate the system during the demo sessions. Each accepted demo paper will be allocated three pages in the conference proceedings.

Participation in the Demos Track requires:

• A 3-page proposal (for formatting instructions, please see below) describing the problem context, a typical usage scenario, existing tools and their shortcomings, the concepts behind the proposed prototype, a short discussion of the technologies used for implementation, a summary of experiments or other experiences with the prototype.
• A small Website (with the URL referenced in the submitted paper) containing the URL of a demo screencast as well as additional material about the prototype illustrated in the demo (e.g. code download, slides, or videos).

Similar to the main MobiQuitous 2014 conference, the Demos Track aims to be a forum for practitioners and researchers from diverse backgrounds to interact and exchange experiences about the design and implementation of mobile and ubiquitous systems. Areas addressed by the conference include systems, applications, social networks, middleware, networking, data management and services, all with special focus on mobility and ubiquitous computing. Submission Instructions and Publication

The international Mobiquitous 2014 TPC will rigorously review all papers submitted to this Demos Track and the ACM Digital Library will publish the accepted ones. Submitted papers for review must not exceed 3 pages and should be in PDF, formatted in the ACM Double Column format.
