Call for Ph.D. Forum submissions

The 23rd edition of EAI MobiQuitous invites Ph.D. students to participate in the MobiQuitous 2026 Ph.D. Forum.

The MobiQuitous 2026 Ph.D. Forum provides an opportunity for Ph.D. students working in mobile and ubiquitous computing to present their ongoing research, receive constructive feedback, and engage with senior researchers and peers in an informal and supportive setting.

We invite submissions from Ph.D. students at any stage of their doctoral research. Work-in-progress submissions are especially welcome. Participants will present their research as a poster during the conference, allowing them to discuss their ideas, research questions, methods, early results, challenges, and future directions with the MobiQuitous community.

The Ph.D. Forum is intended as a discussion-oriented venue rather than a publication venue. Participation in the Ph.D. Forum will not be considered a prior publication (will not included in the Mobiquitous 2026 proceedings), and students are welcome to later submit a full version of their work to conferences, journals, or other archival venues.

Accepted participants are also expected to join a dedicated Ph.D. Forum mentoring and networking session on Tuesday during the conference. This session will provide an opportunity to discuss research directions, publication strategies, career development, collaboration opportunities, and broader challenges in Ph.D. research with invited mentors and fellow students.

Submission deadline: 9 August, 2026

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Mobile and ubiquitous computing systems, applications, and services
  • Mobile user experience and mobile interaction
  • Wearable, sensing, and context-aware systems
  • Internet of Things, edge intelligence, and mobile cloud computing
  • Activity recognition, localization, tracking, and pervasive sensing
  • Urban/mobile crowd sensing and participatory sensing
  • AI and machine learning for mobile and ubiquitous computing
  • Mobile augmented reality, mixed reality, and digital twins
  • Security, privacy, fairness, and trust in mobile and ubiquitous systems
  • Social, human-centered, and community-oriented mobile computing applications

Ph.D. Forum submissions should consist of:

  • Title of the Ph.D. research
  • Author name, affiliation, and contact information
  • Short abstract describing the research topic, motivation, approach, current progress, and open questions
  • Optional link to a project page, paper, demo video, or related material

Submissions will be reviewed based on relevance to MobiQuitous, clarity of the research problem, potential for constructive discussion, and expected benefit to the student.

Accepted Ph.D. Forum participants will present their work as a poster on Monday, Nov. 16th at MobiQuitous 2026. They will also participate in a dedicated mentoring and networking session on Tuesday, November 17th, where they can receive feedback from mentors and interact with other Ph.D. students and researchers in the community.
