Message From the General ChairWelcome to MobiQuitous 2007! Drawing on the synergy of all members of the organizing committee, MobiQuitous 2007 is poised to bring together researchers, developers, and practitioners from academia, industry and government laboratories to disseminate their significant findings toward pushing the frontier of the research on mobile and ubiquitous systems. MobiQuitous 2007 consists of 27 top quality technical papers in addition to the panel organized by Liviu Iftode on vehicular networks. The keynote speeches will be given by three eminent leaders Tim Greisinger, Henning Schulzrinne, and Jie Wu. The conference has four workshops: Personalized Networks, Mobile and Ubiquitous Context Aware Systems and Applications, Security and Privacy of Emerging Ubiquitous Communication Systems and Advances in Wireless Sensor Networks. Additionally, posters, demos, and work in progress sessions are also planned. Many people have helped making this conference a success. I would like to thank the organizing committee for their excellent services. In particular I would like to thank Robin Kravets, Anind Dey, and Hui Lei as the TPC Chairs, Suman Banerjee as the Workshop Chair, Hao Zhu as the Demo Chair, Al Harris and Dong Xuan as the Poster Co-Chairs, Cristina Nita-Rotaru as the Publication Chair, Antonio Capone and Wensheng Zhang as the Publicity Co-Chairs, Zhen Jiang as the Local Arrangements Chair. I would especially like to thank Tom La Porta for his advising on making this conference possible, and Hui Song for all his help with managing the conference web site. I am also grateful to the MobiQuitous Steering Committee, chaired by Imrich Chlamtac, that was helpful in advising on early choices in planning the conference. Last but not least, I appreciate the support of the ICST staff, particularly Karen Decker and Zita Rozsa; without them, this conference would not have been possible.
